Why the Facebook attraction

Many people have commented about how they can't understand why people have an urge to blurb about their current life moment on Facebook. I thought about it and think I have an answer - its just a way to go back to the old village where everyone knew everything about everybody by the end of the day.

Pronounciation

I grew up in India so I pronounce many English words incorrectly and frequently get grief from my Ivy educated coworkers about it. No harm as I would try to correct things. Last year this Yale educated WASP made fun of me because the way I said "agile" ... I said \ˈa-ˌjī(-ə)l\ while most Americans say \ˈa-jəl\ - same for "fragile" I didn't think much of it then, trying to correct myself. Turns out the moron was only half right - a trait many Americans share. I am going back to \ˈa-ˌjī(-ə)l\ ... and can't wait for the next idiot to correct me.
